UP 2002, recently repainted back to its’ original livery for the Salt Lake City Olympics rolls under a refreshed high/wide detector a few miles east of Marion TX. The detector has sensors positioned to ‘create’ the acceptable profile for safe running, although the traditional wires are still in place if you look closely.

And that sets the scene for me. In 1974, Lyricist Peter Allen wrote “ That Everything Old is New Again” for a Broadway Show. And so it was again on a sunny winter day in South Central Texas.
