This Weeks's Photo Send photos to photos@trainnews.org

Former D&RGW K27 Mudhen rolls through Genesee MI on the Huckleberry Railroad. # 464 is one of only two surviving K27 narrow gauge Mikado’s, the other being # 463 of the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad. The track layout is similar to what modelers would recognize as a “dog bone” with loops at each end of the ride. The Huckleberry Railroad is part of Genesee County Parks and Recreation Commission. That encompasses Crossroads Village, which represents life in a 19th Century Michigan. There are numerous historic structures and local craftsmen ply their trade for all to enjoy. It’s quite an experience. Besides the train ride, there are many things to see and do for the family. And, yes, they also have a railfan day, in August.
